We're a small, deliberate team building the safety net for summer camps across North America. Remote-first, async-by-default, and every hire so far has worked a summer at camp.
We don't post these as marketing fluff. We post them because joining is a bad fit if any one of these doesn't match how you want to work.
Every hire we've made has worked at least one summer at a residential or day camp. Not optional. The product gets worse the further we drift from the people who use it.
We say no to features that would make the product faster to sell and slower to use. If you joined a startup to ship dopamine, we're going to disappoint you.
Most of the year, we work in long async blocks across time zones. June through August, we're on call for our customers — that's their busiest, loudest, most stressful time. Ours too.
No hustle theater, no Sunday-night Slack heroics. A small team that cares a lot will beat a big one that cares a little.
Engineers, designers, ops — everyone takes at least one customer call a month. There is no "the customer team will handle it." If you don't want to talk to a tired camp director on a Friday afternoon, this isn't the place.
We're building this for a long time. We promote slowly, give feedback honestly, and would rather wait six months for the right person than fill a seat next week with the wrong one.
Work from anywhere in the US or Canada. Quarterly in-person offsites at camps we partner with. We pay for the flights and the s'mores.
Bands are listed on every job posting below. No negotiating against yourself. Same band, same level, same offer regardless of who you used to work for.
100% premium covered (medical, dental, vision) for you and your dependents. Extended health benefits for Canadian employees. $2,500 annual mental health stipend.
Early-stage stock options with 10-year exercise windows. Standard 4-year vesting, 1-year cliff. We'll walk you through the math at offer.
4 weeks PTO, all federal holidays, and a mandatory 2-week shutdown each December. Average days taken last year: 28. The minimum is enforced.
$3,500 home office stipend. Latest laptop. Anything else that helps you do good work, on us. We don't make people fight for a second monitor.
We post roles when we genuinely need them. Salary bands are public on every posting. All roles are full-time, remote, US or Canada.
Own the counselor-facing app end-to-end — the screen used at 9:42pm with a scraped knee in front of someone. Offline-first sync, photo + audio capture, camera-roll isolation, and battery-life optimization for a 12-hour camp day. Native-leaning stack (Swift + Kotlin, with a thin shared layer).
Onboard new camps end-to-end: discovery call, configuration, staff training, season-1 check-ins. Carry an account portfolio of 35–50 camps. Ideal background: former camp director or assistant director with 3+ seasons running a residential or day program. ACA Site Visitor certification a plus.
Build referral and co-marketing partnerships with ACA chapters, CCA, provincial camp associations, and YMCA networks. You won't be cold-emailing camps; you'll be helping the people camps already trust recommend us. Background in non-profit partnerships or association sales preferred.
Don't see a fit? If you'd be a strong addition and we've missed it, write us anyway — careers@pinereport.com. We open roles when we find the right person, not the other way around.
Same process for every role. You'll know exactly what to expect at each stage. We pay $250 for the take-home stage in cash, whether or not you advance.
Quick mutual-fit conversation. We ask about camp experience first, the role second. You ask anything you want about us.
A realistic problem from your role: a code review for engineering, a discovery call for CS, a partnership pitch for sales. No leetcode.
Conversations with two people you'd work with, scheduled at your convenience. Their job is to figure out if they want you on the team.
We talk to two references (we'll suggest one if you can't). Offer letter follows within a business day. Standard, public-band, non-negotiated.
Even if there isn't a posting today that fits, we keep good resumes warm. Tell us what you'd want to work on.
